You forgot a key reason to take pictures of Brody at this age: to embarrass him in front of his girlfriends when he’s *much* older.

The good thing is that even though you miss it, you miss it because you have something better going on. In a few years you’ll probably miss taking the cute baby pictures of him.

I can totally relate. But when our little girl hit the year mark, I found myself finding time for creativity again. (I.e., the little one is easier to manager so you don’t feel like World’s Worst Father for taking an hour to write, photograph, etc.) And just think… someday he’ll go from being an unclickable cute baby thumbnail to a cool, clickable subject.

Brody is getting easier to manage as the weeks pass, as I remember when Lauren was that young (it’s been a while!). So, I’m sure it will be easier to balance soon enough.

I really should make a more conscious effort to take my camera with me more often.

Neil – I don’t have kids, so I’m not sure I can relate, but I would hope you find a way to make the balance.

You state…”I pass things and can’t help but think to myself: I would shoot that, and this is how I would process it.” Why don’t you carry your camera with you so you can shoot “that” and then you can come back to it when Brody is older and process it then.
